I wouldn't label this so much as hip-hop, rap or r&b because I guess it seems to have so many levels and could be so much more. Although I do hear the Hip Hop, Rap and R&B I also hear a very easy listening that I could easily hear and fall asleep to just because of it's gentle tones. I like this however I thought there could have been more. It had a little too much of a repetitive nature which I usually like in small doses because i have Asbergers. Still this is good enough for me to be in my favorites. Thanks for sharing your talents.

Hey thanks for the kind words and criticism. I will work on my repetitive nature.

Thanks for the post, the story wouldn't have sounded good without you, buddy. You have good ideas and are great for stuff like writing pools.

best ever

Awesome. I love this a lot. Im glade I came up with the title ;D Well, at any rate you are awesome at this and you can only get better from here on Im sure.

Wow. This is breath taking. Thanks for sharing your talent. Well worth the listen.

Very beautiful. So lovely. I feel a lot of what is in this music and what you both have written in the description. The sadness, the deep longing of self discovery, finding ones self in a hard world. Losing ones innocence or finding it again. My heart aches and this peace has brought me to some tears. You both have completed a very emotional and compelling work here and I would be surprised if you didn't win but if you don't know this. You have won me over. Thank you.. Thank you very much for sharing such a sweet masterpiece.

Thanks a lot for listening, and for leaving such a wonderful review, JayWEccent!
It's assuring to hear that the emotions we put into the making of this track were worth it not only for ourselves, but are visible (or hearable) to those who listen as well :3
If this piece brought you to tears, or even close to them, we are very honored. I find that usually, the works of art, be they movies, paintings or music that can bring tears to my eyes, are the most powerful and impactful things I've enjoyed.

As for winning, we truly meant it when we said that this round is so much more than winning or losing to us. Our "opponent's" track is wonderful, and is better produced than this one. While we put our everything into the composition, which shows in the complex nature of it, we didn't have time to calibrate properly to really amazing samples, nor to ajust the attack of the strings. Because of this, I suspect that we'll lose, but that's fine. I could use some time to focus on homework XD

We're super humbled by your review, so thank you very much for taking time out of your day to write it!

This is SWEEEEET!!! Rock'n and awesome. I could put this on loop while killing something in a video game. Great tunes.

DanJohansen responds:

Have fun man, soon we'll be able to kill shit in MGSolid 5!

MORTAL KOMBAT! Great cover if it is. At least it reminds me of the main titles of the game. Awesome stuff.

liljim responds:

It's not a cover. Glad you enjoyed it, though. :)

I don't know why but this reminds me an awful lot of the retro N64 games I use to play. Sounds very classic and reminds me of my youth.

Haunting, dramatic. I love the sound of this, very Danny Elfmanesk. Also very beautiful and for me reminds me a little of Mass Effect, I don't know why, lol. The vocals are beautiful yet creepy, reminding me of a siren calling out to her sailor to pull him down to his doom.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thank you, JayWEccent! I definitely get the reference to Danny Elfman. I've heard some of the soundtrack to Mass Effect as well, and I can get why this would remind you of it as well. Now that you mentioned it, I can actually hear a very distinct "space" feel in this track. Then again, I can hear a bit of everything in all music...

Speaking of the vocals. At some point, I started hearing "Ho-ly Ross!" at 1:54, and now I can't unhear it. The comparison to a siren is a good one too. The brass allows me to hear a bit of "ocean" in this as well now. In a weird way, your comparisons made me listen to this track with more open ears, so thanks for that as well XD
Aaand now the music box made me think of the Davy Jones theme (which I'm pretty sure is borrowed from a well known folk song). Yup...

Sorry for my rambling. It's past 6am, and I'm still awake :p
Thanks for listening and for reviewing!!!
